The wait is finally over!

Chinese tech giant Huawei’s sub brand Honor confirmed the advent of the company’s latest Android OS skin EMUI 9.1 on Honor 8X devices back in May. This good news of course got the phone owners excited and eager at the same time to receive the update at the soonest.

While the OEM promised EMUI 9.1, it came to light that many didn’t even receive Android Pie-based EMUI 9.0 that was rolled out to Honor 8X back in March. It was then disclosed the update wasn’t pushed to all 8X devices. Rather, the devices in India were left out as EMUI 9.0 was held in the region.

At that time, Honor India had said EMUI 9.0 rollout on 8X is expected to be resumed in the first week of August.

As is usually the case with firmware updates, they are pushed out in batches, and so is EMUI 9.1 on Honor 8X. The announcement post says in the first wave, the update has been sent to 1000 8X users who registered for EMUI 9.1 via HiCare. The left out 8X devices (Indian ROM) will also receive the same soon.

HONOR, like always rolled out the update in batches and first batch is of 1000 users who registered the update via Hicare App. The registration will be surely done on a regular basis and soon every HONOR 8X user (Indian ROM) will receive this update.

Something similar has also been stated by Honor India while reverting back to an inquirer on Twitter.
