New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Good news for Realme 2 users. The much anticipated Realme 2 Android Pie update has started rolling out. The company has kept its promise of releasing the update in July after initiating a beta program last month.

The update arrives as version RMX1805EX_11_A.54, and as you can see in the screenshots below, the complete package weighs in at around 2GB. The change log mentions all the major changes aside from the OS bump.

Here’s the complete change-log in text:

– Added Notification Icons in status bar

– Added a new Navigation Gesture

– Added App Drawer to ColorOS launcher

– Added Riding Mode

– Android Security Patch Level : June 5th, 2019

UI

– Updated UI of the Notification panel

– Added realme Theme Store

As mentioned in the change-log, the new update brings in the much requested addition of Notification Icons in status bar. Here’s how the icons look in status bar (Image via >Realme forums):

Moving on, a new swipe up navigation gesture has been added. You can access this new gesture by heading to: Settings → Convenience Aid → Navigation Keys → Swipe-up Gesture.

Up next, the Realme 2 Pie update also brings along another highly requested feature: App Drawer. See an example GIF here. The update also brings along a new Riding Mode.

Riding mode can help you Mute all notifications, automatically text back to decline calls and Avoid distractions and stay focused while you are riding/cycling. You can allow calls from some contacts, or turn on the repeated calls function which allows the phone to ring when the same number calls again within 3 minutes

Moving on, with this new major update, Realme has also made changes to the Notification Panel UI, making it look minimal with big icons. Here’s a screenshot:

The update also brings along another much anticipated feature: the Realme Theme Store.

As is the case with OTA roll out, the update is likely to be rolled out in batches, so don’t panic if you don’t receive it immediately. Meanwhile, those who have already received the update are encouraged to use the comments section below to let us and others know their thoughts about the new update.

Update 1 (July 5)

After Realme 2, the Android Pie based ColorOS 6 stable update is now hitting Realme C1 units. The new OTA bundles June security patches & other goodies. Details here.

Realme is now rolling out a new set of ColorOS 6 based builds to Realme C1 and Realme 2. The changelogs are identical to the previous Android Pie update. Details here.
