This story is being continuously updated….new updates are being added at the bottom…..

Oppo subsidiary Realme has been doing these #AskMadhav video blogs every month for about half a year now, where the Realme India CEO Madhav Sheth answers the trending user queries.

Episode 6 of #AskMadhav went live recently, and has once again unveiled and/or confirmed lots of upcoming stuff, specifically related to Realme 3 Pro. They spoke about things like improvement in camera over saturation issue, May OTA, Theme Store, unlock codes and kernel sources and more.

So lets take a look at what all Madhav shared related to the company’s 2017 mid-ranger phone Realme 3 Pro.

Camera improvements

Since Realme 3 Pro’s launch, the device’s camera performance has been in talks. Users have time and again chimed their dissatisfaction with the over saturated cameras images. Here are some of the recent reports:

Looks like the Realme team has been considering user feedback. Regarding the camera saturation problem, Madhav has confirmed that a new OTA will be coming this month with improvements. Well, the month’s barely left with two days. So the update should be coming anytime now.

New 240fps slow-mo mode

Another good news that Madhav shared is that a new 240fps mode is being prepared for slow motion and will be coming soon to Realme 3 Pro devices. For a quick refresher, Realme 3 Pro’s April security update brought along super slow motion video recording at 960fps.

And now the company is working on 240fps. Here’s hoping that also hits the device at the soonest to enhance user experience.

May OTA

Apart from camera performance, user have been actively inquiring about the May update for Realme 3 Pro devices, as the entire month is almost through and the security patch hasn’t landed yet.

Any update of realme 3, realme also talk about the theme store update of realme 3 & pro month of may 2019 but not received yet ??

Sir where is the update for realme 3 pro of may

Regarding this, Madhav has mentioned the May security patch will be coming on Realme 3 Pro this month itself. Presumably, the camera related improvements should also be incorporated in the same update, and it should be out either today or tomorrow as that’s the time this month is left with.

Theme Store

While Realme C2 is shipped with Theme Store, it was announced back in April that Realme 3 Pro and its kin Realme 3 will get hand on the Theme Store with May OTA. While the May update for Realme 3 Pro is still in limbo, there appears to be a delay in Theme Store’s arrival on Realme 3/3 Pro devices.

Going by Madhav’s latest statement, Realme 3/3 Pro will get the Theme store in the coming month i.e. June. Apart from Madhav, the same information has also been updated in the FAQs posted at Realme Community.

Q. [UPDATE] When will realme Theme Store be made available?
A. realme Theme Store will be available for newer and older devices according to the schedule below:

[EDITED] realme 3 & 3 Pro: Available with June OTA (my apologies to all those who have been patiently waiting for this update – there has been some miscommunication on my side and I can confirm now that the realme Theme Store will come with the OTA released in June).

Realme India Support is also telling users the same on Twitter.

As for the older Realme devices, Madhav has revealed that Theme Store will be arriving with the ColorOS 6 and Android 9.0 Pie OTA that’ll be releasing next month. And the same has been updated in the FAQs as well:

realme 1, 2, C1, U1 & 2 Pro: Available with Pie OTA in June

This also confirms that Realme 1, Realme 2, Realme C1, Realme U1 along with Realme 2 Pro will finally get ColorOS 6 (or Android Pie) in the coming month, i.e. June. So the wait will be over soon.

Unlock codes and kernel sources

Those who have been waiting to unlock the bootloader on your Realme 3 pro unit, Madhav shared the company plans to release the bootloader unlock codes and kernel source (in GitHub) this month itself. So you’ll not have to wait for long.

Lastly, regarding user queries related to Widevine L1, Madhar says Realme 3 pro already supports it. Just in case your device doesn’t have it, you are suggested to update to the latest software.

That’s all for now.

To sum it up, a lot is likely to happen on Realme 3 Pro devices in the coming month. Rest assured, we are keeping a tab and will let you know as and when the promised changes/updates get to action.
