Over the past several weeks, Xiaomi has been hard at work, pushing out MIUI 12 to more and more eligible devices. Already, several devices from the company have bagged this much-awaited update and we have a dedicated tracker for keeping tabs on this rollout.

Today, one more device from Xiaomi is getting updated to MIUI 12, adding to the list of devices that have officially been updated. This is the Xiaomi Redmi Note 7 Pro in China.

Redmi Note 7 Pro

The Redmi Note 7 Pro was unveiled back in March 2019 and runs on Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 675. The device ran Android 9 Pie out of the box and has since been updated to Android 10 with Xiaomi’s own MIUI 11 on top.

The device is in line for an update to MIUI 12 and already, we have seen the company commence the Mi Pilot testing for MIUI 12 on this device in India. Today, Xiaomi is finally rolling out Android 10-based MIUI 12 to the Redmi Note 7 Pro. So what’s new in this build of MIUI 12? Well, here is the changelog.

New: Swipe down from the upper right corner of your screen to open Control center.

New: Mi Ditto combines dictation and speech output, making mobile devices more convenient for people who have difficulties using conventionally designed smartphones.

Mi Carrier Services

The Redmi Note 7 Pro has been pretty well-updated throughout its life with timely security patches and we can only hope to see this trend continue. Also, there’s already an Android 11 port for this device so if you’re the adventurous type, that might be something to look into.
