Xiaomi has started distributing a new Android 10-based software update to its Android One-powered Mi A2 Lite with the latest June 2020 security patch. The update arrives shortly after the Mi A3 and Mi A2 picked up similar Android 10-based June patches.

The Mi A2 Lite never got a successor when Xiaomi released the Mi A3. Whether this is bound to change with the release of the Mi A4 is still unknown to us. Perhaps the company wasn’t impressed with the market performance of the device and hence denying it a successor.

But that none of our doing. The best we can get from Xiaomi for now, at least for those of us who still rock the Mi A2 Lite, is the latest June 2020 security patch. This is a much-needed update, especially since the device has had to deal with a myriad of bugs since switching to Android 10.

Bugs such as animation lag, broken microphone, unstable MTP, and many others have been well documented by PiunikaWeb. The May security update obviously didn’t address all of them and many will be expecting that the incoming Mi A2 Lite June update fixes even more issues.

Xiaomi, unfortunately, doesn’t mention anything much in the changelog attached to the Mi A2 Lite update. Instead, all we get is something generic, as seen below.

Optimization: Increased system stability
Optimization: Reduced system lag

The new firmware is arriving over the air as software version V11.0.7.0.QDLMIXM and according to the official announcement post, the rollout is in phases. This means some Mi A2 Lite units will receive the OTA download notification ahead of others.

Rather than wait for the OTA update, you can grab the firmware via the download link below and install it manually on your device.
