The Samsung Galaxy A71 5G along with the Galaxy A51 5G were part of the first few smartphones from the A series to get the One UI 3.0 update based on Android 11 as we reported back in February.

However, the update was only released to Galaxy A51 5G and Galaxy A71 5G users in the U.S. for unknown reasons.

That said, Samsung started rolling out the Android 11 update for the Galaxy A71 5G and Galaxy A51 5G in Korea yesterday, and the update bumped the One UI version directly to 3.1 instead of 3.0.

We had mentioned that users in the U.S. can also expect to bag the new One UI 3.1 skin shortly. And well, it seems the update has already begun rolling out.

Verizon and Samsung have released the One UI 3.1 update for the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G at least and it’s highly likely that the Galaxy A51 5G will follow suit.

The update is rolling out with the firmware version number A716VSQU2DUC1 and it also carries the March 2021 security patch.

While we haven’t got our hands on the official changelog from Samsung directly, here’s the brief changelog for the One UI 3.1 update for the Galaxy A71 5G shared by Verizon:

– What’s changing:

This software update introduces One UI 3.1, with new Camera features, app enhancements (Calendar, Messages, Duo, DeX), and new Settings (Eye comfort shield, Game Priority mode).

The latest Android security patch is also included in this update.

– Single Take – Shot Customization

Now you can customize what shots to capture when using Single Take feature.

– Eye Comfort Shield

Keep your eyes comfortable by limiting blue light and using warmer colors. Automatically adjust your screen’s colors based on the time of day.

– Game Booster – Priority Mode

For the serious gamers, you can use Priority Mode in Game Booster to block incoming calls and notification alarms. It will also optimize your network connection and processor power for your games.

– Video Call Enhancements

When using 3rd party apps (i.e., Google Duo), the video call now supports HDR, Beauty features, and improved low-light quality.

– Wireless DeX – PC Connection

Extend your Galaxy phone to your desktop PC using Wireless DeX. Simply download the DeX app on your PC and connect to the same Wi-Fi network to start DeX.

– Galaxy Buds* – Seamless Earbud Connection

When logged into your Samsung account, quickly switch your Galaxy Buds to nearby devices without disconnecting your earbuds or turning on pairing mode.

The changelog here indicates that the update also brings the Wireless Dex feature to the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G, however, it seems that Samsung is simply copy-pasting the changelogs for all devices.

This is because the changelog for the Samsung Galaxy Tab S6 also indicated that the device will get the Second Screen feature, however, the option is nowhere to be found after the update.

Nevertheless, apart from the botched changelogs, Samsung is doing a remarkable job with getting all eligible models to run on the latest Android version and One UI skin.

Now since One UI 3.1 has begun rolling out for the Verizon model of the Samsung Galaxy A71 5G, we can expect to see the update go live for the device from other carriers as well.

So stay tuned to our dedicated tracker to know the status of One UI 3.1 for your Samsung phone or tablet.
