With hundreds of millions of subscribers, Verizon is among the largest wireless carriers in the US which offers carrier-locked devices from numerous OEMs including Apple and Samsung.

Its Samsung portfolio includes flagship devices from the Galaxy S, Galaxy Note, and Galaxy Z (foldables) series. Among them, the Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+.

Several Samsung devices offered by Verizon have had Advanced Messaging (RCS) support for quite some time now. It was also announced that those using the Message+ app will get full access to RCS capabilities by year-end.

However, users of the Verizon Galaxy Note 10 devices had been waiting for Advanced Messaging support which has been enabled on multiple Samsung devices. Verizon started rolling out the August 2021 security patch to its Galaxy Note 10 devices in late August.

However, user reports indicated that Advanced Messaging (RCS) support was not enabled on the Verizon Galaxy Note 10 and Galaxy Note 10+ despite being mentioned in the update changelogs.

This created a lot of tension in the Verizon community as many users of the Verizon Galaxy Note 10 devices started reporting that Advanced Messaging support is missing on their devices even after the August security update.

However, Verizon customer support was only able to provide affected users of the Galaxy Note 10 devices with a list of Samsung devices which support the Advanced Messaging (RCS) features.

Also, it was pointed out by Verizon customer support that the devices in question were not compatible for Advanced Messaging (RCS) which is confusing as the August update changelog clearly outlines RCS support.

However, some recent user reports have been indicating otherwise. Now, users of the Verizon Galaxy Note 10 and Note 10+ have been reporting that they are able to use RCS on their devices.

It is unclear whether Verizon enabled the feature support after public uproar or if it was a planned move. It is possible that the September security update for the devices in question might have enabled RCS support.

While the update changelog is a generic one and does not outline anything related to RCS support, it is still good to see that users of the Verizon Galaxy Note 10 devices are finally able to use RCS features.

@vzw_customer_support-Alicia I have the note 10 plus and guess what! It’s working and that means its compatible. You should’ve dug deeper before you wrote what you wrote.

@JN_3 I would think complaints on these forums and phone calls into VZW had some weight on the matter. I’m curious as to why VZW held back pushing this out to the Note 10 users. It’ll be a conspiracy theory and they’ll never uncover why. The speculation continues…
