With more than 330 million monthly active users, Twitter is one of the most popular micro-blogging platforms on the internet. It allows users to share their thoughts in the form of short messages called Tweets.

When it was launched in 2006, Twitter had limited the length of Tweets to 140 characters, but in 2017 increased the maximum limit to 280 characters. However, the audio and video Tweet limit is restricted to 140 characters.

Unsurprisingly, developers constantly work on adding new features and improving existing ones.

But in the last few weeks, players faced several issues such as some having trouble adding people to lists while others saying that the app scrolls to the top when they pressed the back button.

That being said, Twitter recently revamped the search page UI on mobile, which is clearly inspired by TikTok and now includes the ‘For You’ and ‘Trending’ tabs. You can take a look at the new UI in the image below.

While the new UI is not available to everyone, those who had the chance to test it out are now saying that they dislike the changes made and want to revert to the older version.

Many say that they want to see what’s trending on Twitter instead of an endless 30-second video vertical screen similar to Instagram and TikTok.

@TwitterIndia why my trending page interface has became different and previously “For you” section in search tab used to show trending topics whereas now it’s showing reels ….fix it ASAP…

How does one turn off this stupid For You tab in Twitter search. The previous search UI with trends was simpler. Now I need 2 clicks to get to the trends page and avoid the videos Person facepalming @Twitter @TwitterSupport

Some Twitter users seem to be angry with the developers and are wondering why the company suddenly changed the UI for them without consulting first.

Those who want to revert to the older version are trying to find a toggle that lets them opt out.

How do i go back to older search tab look . i don’t like these tiktok like features on Twitter and not everyone has it , so is there a setting for it ? or an option to opt out from this feature testing ?

Unfortunately, Twitter is yet to say anything on the matter, leaving users confused and frustrated as to what they can do to bring back the older version.

Nonetheless, we will be keeping an eye out on more information and update this space as and when we come across new information so make sure you stay tuned.
