Twitter is one of the most used micro blogging platforms on the internet. With more than 330 million monthly active users, it was founded by Jack Dorsey back in 2006.

In case you are unaware, Twitter allows its users to share their thoughts by sending short messages known as tweets. Like Facebook status, others can reply, like, or share the other person’s tweet.

A few years ago, Twitter introduced a Lists feature that allows you to organize and customize the Tweets you are able to see on your Timeline. Users can either create a list of their own or join a list created by others.

You can also create or join multiple lists or pin your favorite list on the top of your Home timeline. The feature can be found in the navigation bar.

But according to recent reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), it looks like a bug is preventing Twitter users from adding people to their Lists. The issue seems to be affecting both mobile and desktop users.

Users say that when they try to add or remove someone from their lists, it takes them to the lists settings instead of adding them, which is really frustrating.

Here is what some Twitter users who are facing issues adding people to lists have to say.

@TwitterSupport There is a problem with adding/removing people to/from lists from their own profile. When I try to Heavy check mark, it simply goes to that list settings I wish to add to without adding people to the list. And while you are at it, please make lists appear as sorted, thank you.

Whenever i tried to add an account to my lists on pc twitter, it doesn’t work and just take me to the list itself without letting me add the account. The problem started for absolutely no reason yesterday, and i tried restarting my pc and everything but it just doesn’t go away. Can anybody clue me in on how i can fix this?

Many were wondering if their machine or device was at fault or if it was indeed an issue on Twitter’s end.

As it turns out, Twitter Support has finally acknowledged the issue preventing users from adding others to their lists and said that they are working on it. However, they did not share any timeframe on when it will be fixed.

6:08 pm (IST): Recent reports suggest that the issue where Twitter users are unable to add accounts to their custom lists is occurring again (1, 2, 3, 4, 5).
