New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on February 08, 2022) follows:

Twitter, one of the biggest social media and the world’s largest microblogging platform has been steadily gaining popularity in the last few years. With more than 396 million users worldwide, almost half the people use it to get news.

But in the last few months, Twitter users have been facing numerous issues such as being unable to add people to lists, app scrolling to top with back button amongst many more.

And now, Twitter users on the Vodafone UK network are reporting (1,2,3,4,5) that images, GIFs, or videos are not loading at all.

It looks like the issue has been affecting those on the network for the last couple of days. All they are able to see are blank spaces instead of images and videos.

Many said they tried generic solutions such as clearing app data and cache and reinstalling the app but to no avail. Below are some of the reports shared by Vodafone UK users saying Twitter is not loading any images or videos.

Anybody else not having any images (even profile pics) loading when on their data on Twitter? Fine on every app, but the problem‘s the same no matter where I go or how strong my signal is. Wifi fine.

Fortunately, Vodafone UK has acknowledged the issue and said that they are working to fix it. However, there is no ETA on when the problem will be resolved.

Hey Omar
We’re already aware of the issue with images/video not loading on Twitter and working on a fix as soon as possible. It might be worth trying to restart the app by fully closing it then re-opening to see if this helps.

Also, we came across a workaround that involves accessing Twitter using Firefox since the browser is loading images and videos for some.

When they fix the issue, we will update this space to reflect the same so make sure you stay tuned for more information. In the meantime, do let us know if the aforementioned workaround fixed the issue for you in the comments below.
