Spotify is one of the most popular media streaming services used across the globe on a day-to-day basis.

One can enjoy listening to their favorite music tracks or podcasts, thanks to the platform’s large collection of songs and podcasts.

However, like any media streaming platform, Spotify also suffers from occasional bugs and issues. For instance, we recently covered a story where the Spotify app’s display appeared zoomed in on Android TV and Google TV.

Now, Spotify playlists are reportedly not playing when using the Enhanced mode for a section of users after a recent update to the app.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), some Spotify users are experiencing difficulties playing songs from a playlist when ‘Enhanced mode’ is enabled.

The ‘Enhanced mode’ feature adds new songs that are similar to the ones on a playlist and is only available to Premium subscribers.

Users say that they are unable to click on any of the songs or play them after turning on ‘Enhanced mode’.

Some allege that even though they are online, they still get a ‘no internet connection’ error message.

Also, since the issue affects users across multiple platforms, it looks to be more of an app issue and not a platform problem.

Some have even tried following the general troubleshooting steps such as restarting their device and uninstalling and reinstalling the app but were unable to resolve the problem.

Users are now requesting the developers to fix the glitch as soon as possible so that they can keep grooving to fresh or new tracks.

Potential workaround

Fortunately, we did come across a potential workaround that may help solve the problem for some. It is recommended that you sign out of the app, restart the device, and then sign back into the account.

We do hope that Spotify resolves this problem soon.

That said, we’ll keep an eye on the issue where some Spotify users are unable to play songs when in ‘Enhanced Mode’ and update this article as and when something noteworthy comes up.

09:57 am (IST): Spotify has now acknowledged this issue and confirmed that it is currently under investigation.

12:37 pm (IST): According to a user, this issue has been fixed in the newest version 8.8.4 of the iOS app.

Update 3 (January 27, 2023)

17:20 pm (IST): According to multiple reports (1,2,3), this issue has been fixed in the latest version of the iOS and Windows apps.
