The Google Pixel 8 and Pixel 8 Pro are arguably the most AI-focused smartphones on the planet right now. But if the latest reports from GalaxyClub are to be believed, Samsung is working on its own set of AI features that will make the Galaxy S24 the perfect ‘AI Phone’ to challenge the Pixel 8’s trending AI capabilities.

According to reports, Samsung will unveil the Galaxy S24 family of devices in mid-January 2024, and chief among the features to expect are some new AI capabilities to take on the Pixel 8 AI features. This is an expected trend going into 2024 given AI is now the new buzzword, but it’s still unclear what features Samsung is working on for its upcoming AI phone.

In a series of trademarks filed ahead of the Galaxy S24 launch, the folks over at GalaxyClub have established that Samsung will market the device as an ‘AI Phone’. It’s possible this may change to ‘AI Smartphone’ in some countries, but it’s still too early to say. Also, given how generic these names sound, no one knows the exact AI functions the phones will pack when the final product arrives.

This latest development cements a previous report that claimed Samsung will go all in with AI on the Galaxy S24 series. Apparently, the phones will combine offline and online AI features from ChatGPT, Google Bard, and Samsung itself with the aim to one-up the Pixel 8 AI capabilities. Although it remains to be seen how true this is since we are mostly still dealing with rumors and leaks from unofficial sources.

With Google’s Pixel 8 AI capabilities going hard on photography, I also expect Samsung to ship the Galaxy S24 with a bunch of AI camera features too. But we’ll have to wait until the phone arrives on January 17 to verify these rumors and speculations.
