Being a Samsung user myself for quite a while, I have experienced some fascinating changes over time. The rollout of timely updates by the Korean OEM is indeed a massive change.
Not known for speedy and regular updates, Samsung turned the tables this year, and as we are approaching the year-end, this improvement needs to be acknowledged.
Unlike other companies, Samsung is also delivering stable Android 10 update to the 5G variants of their popular flagships, such as Galaxy S10 5G and Galaxy Note 10+ 5G.
Besides, a number of legacy Galaxy Devices are grabbing new updates. Galaxy A30s is reportedly getting two consecutive OTAs with different builds but the same security patchset. On the other hand, Galaxy A5 (2017) is grabbing the latest December 2019 update.
Not only this, the LTE variant of Galaxy Tab S3 is also receiving a new security update, which is sadly the October patchset. Let us take a look at the updates received on the devices, one by one:
Galaxy A30s
Samsung unveiled Galaxy A30s during the end of the third quarter of this year. Two new software builds for this phone – ASL1 and ASL2 – with the identical November security patch are available for download in India.
The update with build ASL1 weighs around 279.40 MB in size. Though the update carries the November patch, it seems to improve the security of the device. Below is the screenshot of the update prompt shared by one of the users:

As for the ASL2 update, we were able to grab the update package file with the help of the Frija Tool. In layman’s terms, this tool downloads the firmware file directly from the Samsung FUS (Firmware Update Server). You can read in-depth about the Frija tool by heading here.
Galaxy A7 (2017)
The 2017 model of Galaxy A7 is also getting a new update that brings in the December 2019 security update. Moreover, it is purely incremental in nature.
It arrives with the version number CSL9/CSK7/CSK9 (region-specific) and weighs in around 80.42 MB in size. Below is the official changelog along with the screenshot of the same:

Galaxy Tab S3 (LTE)
Reportedly, the LTE variant of the Galaxy Tab S3 is also being served with a new security update. Sadly it is the October security patchset and is purely incremental in nature.
In fact, the device is stuck with the August security update till date. The new update comes with the version number CSK2/CSK1/CSJ1 (region-specific).
Thanks to the Frija tool, we were able to grab the update. You can check out the screenshot of the update below:
You can also wait for the incremental OTA to arrive on your device, but that will take some time. However, users can manually check for the update notification by heading to System>>Software Updates>>Download updates manually.
