Xiaomi Redmi Note 8 global variant received the Android 10-based MIUI 12 update pretty recently but it is half baked.

Soon after getting the latest update, users started noticing that there are several features that are missing on the latest custom skin.

Multiple report of missing features swarmed the Mi Community and an official acknowledgement was awaited from the OEM.

Now, it seems that the issue has been acknowledged and users of the Redmi Note 8 might get the missing MIUI 12 features in the future.

A Xiaomi feedback team member has stated that the missing features might be added in future MIUI 12 builds, however, there is no guarantee of this.

Dear user. Thanks for reaching out to MIUI ROM subforum. If there isn’t any major bugs found with current version, it will roll out to all users. For features that not offer, it may added in future version but no guarantee. Thanks.

This means that the decision now rests in the hands of the Redmi Note 8 development team which may or may not add the features to the latest custom skin.

The missing features include the navigation pill, new Android 10 animations, Gallery features, and Floating windows.

Nevertheless, users will have to wait until the next MIUI 12 stable update rolls out to the device in question to find out whether their concerns have been addressed or not.

It must be noted that there are several MIUI 12 features that are not provided to all devices simply due to hardware limitations.

Also, several devices are still in line to receive the latest custom skin but it is unclear when that is going to transpire.

Moreover, only time will tell how Xiaomi plans to address major user concerns related to MIUI 12 as its development is still ongoing.
