Dark mode is the new cool of tech gadgets these days. Be it the smartphone OS or desktop OS, dark modes is being incorporated in all major platforms now. It got to be part of the POCO Launcher with an update back in April.

Dark mode in POCO Launcher is limited only to the launcher, as MIUI itself doesn’t support system-wide dark mode at least until now.

Just for clarity, there was a confusion sometime back, when main stream tech media highlighted that MIUI (beta) on Poco F1 now supports system wide dark mode. Later on, it turned out the feature was limited to closed beta users only. So MIUI is still to get system-wide dark mode support.

Coming back to Poco F1, last week went quite well for users as Xiaomi’s global Head of Pocophone, Alvin Tse confirmed the device will be upgraded to Android Q as well as MIUI 11. The phone even received May security patch with features like customizable lock screen clock and more.

And this week has already commenced on a good note for the company exec has now confirmed MIUI 11 will bring along system-wide dark mode support on Poco F1 and other Xiaomi phones. Yay?! Alvin confirmed this while reverting back to a Poco F1 user on Twitter with a short and crisp response.

As the feature will be part of MIUI’s next update, meaning all Xiaomi devices that’ll be upgraded to MIUI 11 will get to experience system-wide dark mode. While conversing with another user, Alvin added the feature is already being tested on Redmi Note 7 Pro and will soon make way to MIUI 11.

So all in all, MIUI 11 will bring system-wide dark mode support on compatible Xiaomi phones. Here’s hoping the OEM gets done with the testing part and releases the much awaited MIUI 11 sometime soon, so that users can get to experience the feature/functionalities it supports.

Rest assured, we’ll let you know as and when that occurs.
