Google’s June 2024 Pixel Feature Drop has landed, bringing a significant upgrade to Pixel Tablet users’ Nest Doorbell experience. The update introduces richer notifications and expanded functionality when receiving calls from your Nest Doorbell.

Now, when your doorbell rings, your Pixel Tablet will not only notify you but also reveal who’s at your front door. This visual confirmation adds an extra layer of security and convenience, allowing you to quickly assess the situation before deciding how to respond.

The update goes even further by enabling two-way talk, so you can chat with your visitor directly from the tablet. And if a quick response is all that’s needed, you can choose from a set of pre-written messages. This is especially handy when you’re busy or unable to answer the door in person.

To take advantage of these new features, you’ll need a Nest Doorbell (wired, 1st or 2nd gen) or a Nest Doorbell (battery). Additionally, your Pixel Tablet must be locked and docked on its charging speaker dock to trigger the full-screen live view.

Interested users will also need to sign up for the Public Preview program in the Google Home app. This allows you to test new features before they are officially rolled out to all users.

This update positions the Pixel Tablet as an even more versatile smart home hub, seamlessly integrating with your Nest Doorbell to provide a richer and more interactive experience.
