[Updated] PGA TOUR 2K23 down, not working or 'HB-RS 1702' error after v1.16 update reported by many

PGA TOUR 2K23 is the latest installment in the popular Golf simulator franchise. The game seeks the title of best simulation in its segment facing strong rivals like EA SPORTS PGA TOUR.

That said, a few hours ago the game got an update, after which many players have been unable to access it due to an annoying ‘HB-RS 1702’ error.

Multiple recent reports indicate that the sports simulator is currently down for many who cannot enjoy it after updating to the latest version available.

Your servers are down or not working, getting an error code of HB-RS 1702, and i done everything to fix it, but to no avail

The issue is not only affecting the PGA TOUR 2K23 online modes, but it is even preventing many people from accessing career mode (MyCareer).

The situation is causing frustration especially among those who chose PGA TOUR 2K23 instead of EA SPORTS PGA TOUR, its direct rival. There are even players considering switching to EA’s game due to the outage.

I chose you guys over ea this past weekend, buying my first golf game and you can’t even make it a week.. did I make the wrong decision?

Hopefully the game will be available to play again soon. After all, it must be quite frustrating not being able to access it after paying, especially for those players whose free time is limited.

There is still no official word on this issue from the 2K dev team. We will update this story as events unfold.

10:23 am (IST): The 2K dev team confirmed that the issue has been resolved via a new patch (v1.17).
