Oppo’s independent subsidiary Realme is vigorously pushing Android Pie-based ColorOS 6 to their older devices. Realme 2 Pro and Realme 1 got to taste the long-awaited Android OS dessert just recently, and other phones like Realme U1, C1 and 2 are beta testing the same.

Coming to the parent company, back in March Oppo revealed ColorOS 6 schedule for their phones.

The OEM planned to push ColorOS 6 to Oppo R15 & R15 Dream Mirror Edition back in April, followed by Find X, R17 & R17 Pro in August. The same is expected to land on OPPO R11, R11 Plus, R11s, R11s Plus, A7x & OPPO A3 sometime in September.

The list initially did not include Oppo F9/F9 Pro and Oppo F7 devices. However, the company itself confirmed these phones will also get to taste Android Pie-based ColorOS 6.

While the company listed a good number of ColorOS 6 compatible phones, and even shared the roadmap stating when will which phone be updated, sadly, ColorOS 6 hasn’t been pushed to any of the phones yet. And users are waiting eagerly.

Among the listed phones, Oppo F9/F9 Pro recently received the May security patch (images below). And just when the update landed, devices users began inquiring why hasn’t ColorOs6/Android Pie been pushed on the units yet.

For a quick refresher, Oppo F9 (aka F9 Pro in India) is Oppo’s 2018 mid-range device powered by Mediatek Helio P60 SoC. F9/F9 Pro came with Android 8.1 (Oreo), layered with the company’s customized skin ColorOS 5.2. It is also the OEMs first device that embraces a tear-drop notch design.

Reverting back to user queries regarding ColorOS 6 on Oppo F9/F9 Pro, Oppo (via Twitter) recently informed an inquirer their team is working on ColorOS 6 for the device.
