OnePlus is known for its flagship devices and among them, the OnePlus 7 series which came out in 2019 with Android 9 Pie out-of-the-box.

OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro have already received the Android 10-based OxygenOS 10 update while the wait is now on for OxygenOS 11 (Android 11).

However, another OxygenOS 10 update is now out for OnePlus 7 and OnePlus 7 Pro which brings along a peculiar bug fix.

The OxygenOS 10 Open Beta 19 update for the OnePlus 7 series offers the October 2020 security patch along with a fix for the selfie camera issue.

While the changelog does not include much details, it clearly outlines that the problem in the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro selfie camera had been persistent for quite some time.

It must be noted that the OnePlus 7 series recently received the OxygenOS 10.0.6 (Global and India) and 10.0.9 (Europe) stable updates.

The updates carried the September 2020 security patch along with a similar bug fix for some third-party apps.

The latest public beta update addresses the problem with the native OnePlus Camera app this time and the same is expected to arrive on the stable version as well.

However, it is unclear when this is going to happen as the OEM has not made any announcements on the matter yet.

While the OxygenOS 11 update is still being developed for the OnePlus 7 and 7 Pro, chances are that the selfie camera fix will be made available on OxygenOS 10 itself.

This is still based on our speculation but we hope OnePlus pushes the bug fix along with the stable October 2020 security update soon.

That said, we will keep tracking this for further development and will provide details once more information becomes available.
