A large intersection between Android purists and hardcore Samsung fans have this idea of running stock Android on Samsung flagships. It actually happened when Mountain View giant launched the Google Play edition of Galaxy S4 back in 2013, but that was the end of it.
Samsung started to promote their own silicon – the Exynos platform – since years. In fact, the global unlocked variants of flagship Galaxy S and Note lineup are fueled by Exynos chipsets, which is not as developer friendly as Qualcomm Snapdragon.
For this reason, some useful features (like VoLTE, VoWiFi, iris scanner etc.) are hard to implement on aftermarket AOSP based ROMs for Samsung Exynos powered devices. A recent development opened a new window though, as Motorola opted for these chips in their recent Android One lineup.
Featuring a ultra long 21:9 display with a punch hole, Motorola One Vision is based on Exynos 9609 platform. The phone was released in India during June – a few days after the official announcement.
While it has some known issues like bootlooping under certain conditions, the lack of Dual VoLTE is a striking matter of regular users.
While the underlying modem in the SoC is perfectly capable to handle Dual VoLTE, the omission of this feature does not make any sense. We are also unable to find any reference of such functionality in the official specs list of Motorola One Vision.
Well, looks like the OEM simply needs more time to do some internal testings, as the newest update for Indian One Vision units does enable Dual VoLTE. Not only so, the OTA (build tag PSA29.160-30) also brings August security patches and numerous other improvements.
Matter of interest, Motorola did prepare July security patchset for the phone in some regions, but they skipped it entirely in India. Jumping from June to August, the Indian units of Motorola One Vision are also blessed with touch panel and Turbo charging improvements.

– Touch panel stability improvements: Includes changes that fix bugs and improve touch panel stability
– Turbo charging improvements: Includes changes that fix bugs and improve turbo charging performance
