Xiaomi is known for adding enticing features on top of MIUI. With MIUI 12, a pool of new features was offered, and the exciting thing is that the company didn’t stop there.

MIUI 12 in its ‘Closed Beta’ has bagged multiple new additions in the past. From the Gallery app to the Music app’s revamped UI, improvements have been pretty visible.

Latest reports suggest that OEM’s most recent skin version i.e., MIUI 12.5, isn’t far away. MIUI 12 beta may soon be put to a halt to pave way for eligible devices to start adapting to MIUI 12.5 builds.

In the latest beta update, it appears that a new ‘Floating Window’ has been integrated with the notification bar. This feature lets users instantly reply to a conversation without bothering to open the app.

The floating window can easily be accessed by long-pressing the notification and swipe to drag it down, a floating window will pop up.

The video demonstration below explains how this feature works.

The feature is currently limited to the Mi 10 Lite, Redmi K30 Pro, Mi 10 Pro, Redmi K30S Ultra, and Redmi K30. But looking at Xiaomi’s past record, it’d be safe to say that it’s coming to more devices.

In addition to this, a new Control Center with a 5G toggle has also been added in the latest MIUI 12 update. With the shift to 5G in full swing, this would come in handy for users while switching between multiple network bands.

The point to be noted here is that these features are still under testing and may not be available at this moment. But there are high chances they’ll be available with the upcoming MIUI 12.5 update.

FYI, some of the previous beta update features have already been confirmed to be part of the MIUI 12.5 update. Any development from here would be worth watching.
