The recent price increase for Hulu and Disney Plus subscriptions for the year 2023 has stirred a wave of reactions among users.

Before this, Spotify and YouTube had also made their subscription prices higher, which made their users unhappy. And now, Hulu and Disney+ have done the same thing by raising their prices too.

As costs for Disney+ and Hulu go up, many subscribers are evaluating their options and making decisions on how to proceed.

Hulu & Disney Plus price increase pushes users to look for alternatives

As these popular streaming services become pricey for many, subscribers have begun to either cancel the subscription, make some adjustments or even looking for alternatives.

Here are some reports from those affected:

I just downgraded to the bundle with ads. I was fine at 19.99 but nope not doing 24.99. Disney for my kids ESPN+ for me and Hulu for everyone. However UFC is one hell of a yearly deal if I’m reading the article correctly. Too bad I’m not a HUGE fan that needs PPV events. (Source)

I’m already looking at cancelling. The content they put out already isn’t worth the $12 they charge. Raising the price of Hulu to $18 too… out of their damn mind (Source)

With the new prices in mind, subscribers are exploring various alternatives to manage their costs while still enjoying their favorite shows and movies.

One option gaining attention (1, 2, 3) is dropping ESPN+. By holding onto Disney Plus and Hulu (ad-free version), users can save money with a combined cost of $19.99.

Another option is downgrading (1, 2) to the ‘with ads bundle’. This choice allows users to continue enjoying their content with ads, which could be a trade-off for a more budget-friendly subscription.

Furthermore, some users are taking more drastic measures in response to the price increase. They are considering canceling (1, 2, 3, 4, 5) their subscriptions altogether.

That said, we will make sure to update this article as and when any useful information comes to our notice.
