Good news for the users of Honor View 20, as Huawei has pushed in the October security update for the device ahead of the Magic UI 3.0 (Android 10) update.

Moreover, as per the revised timeline shared by Huawei for the rollout of EMUI 10 and Magic UI 3.0 based on Android 10, Honor View 20 is slated to receive the Android 10 based update, in mid-November.

Keep in mind that the Honor V20 is known as Honor View 20 outside of China and Magic UI is the skin that runs on Honor branded smartphones. Besides, back in the previous month, the device got the September security patch as Magic 3.0 Beta.

For specs buff, the Honor View 20 was launched in 2018 and is powered by the Kirin 980 processor paired with 6/8 GB of RAM. Under the hood, it has a 4,000 mAh battery and sports a fingerprint sensor at the back.

It houses a dual 48MP + 3D camera with AI features at the back and a 25MP camera in the front. Honor View 20 has a 6.4-inch display with a resolution of 2310 x 1080 pixels.

Now coming to this new update, as already mentioned it bumps the security patch level to October 2019 and comes with the build number V9.1.0.251. The update weighs in about 540 MB in size for the OTA update.

Below is the official changelog and the screenshot of the update prompt:

In fact, this might be the last security update that the Honor View 20 gets on Android 9 Pie as the stable Magic UI 3.0 based on Android 10 will soon be pushed for the device in the near future.

Keep in mind that the update is being pushed via OTA in batches and will take some time in hitting all the devices. However, you can head to Apps > System > Software update > Tap the Check for Update button for manually checking for the update notification.
