Google’s March 2024 Pixel Feature Drop brings a welcome change for those upgrading devices or using multiple Pixels. Now you can seamlessly pair previously used Bluetooth accessories with your new Pixel phone or tablet.

Previously, connecting your headphones or smartwatch to a new Pixel phone or tablet could require navigating through various menus and settings. Now, your Connected Devices settings page will list Bluetooth accessories you’ve used before with your Google account. This allows for one-tap pairing, leveraging Google Fast Pair technology for a seamless experience.

“We’re introducing a new and improved way to quickly pair your devices that were previously used with your account in your Connected Devices settings page,” Google explains in the release notes. “You can now access previously set up Bluetooth accessories on your new phone or tablet and Fast Pair will help you connect your devices.”

Currently, this enhanced pairing feature is available on the Pixel Tablet, Pixel Fold, Pixel 5a with 5G, and newer Pixel phones. It’s important to note that Google Fast Pair requires your Location settings to be enabled for it to work its magic.

With this update, Google continues to refine the Android experience for users with multiple devices. No more fumbling with Bluetooth settings – now, switching your favorite accessories between your Pixel phone and tablet is as easy as a single tap.

As noted, the new Fast Pair function is rolling out with the latest March Feature Drop, so be sure that your Pixel phone or tablet is running the latest build in order to enjoy this and a bunch of other features available with this update.
