Google’s Quick Share, the Android equivalent of Apple’s AirDrop, is receiving a visual upgrade to the file transfer bar that brings a redesigned progress animation in line with the latest in Google’s Material Design 3 guidelines.

The updated progress animation features cleaner outlines, rounded corners, and a brighter contrast between the progress track and indicator. This revamped design intends to give a more dynamic and visually pleasing experience when transferring files between devices.

Google has been gradually updating Quick Share with Material Design elements since its introduction in 2020. This update is the latest in a series of refinements aimed at creating a cohesive and modern user experience across Android devices. According to Android Police, the new animation appears to be rolling out globally as a server-side update, meaning you may begin seeing the changes on your Android phone very soon. However, none of our devices have picked up the update so far.

While the updated Quick Share progress animation may be a small tweak, it highlights Google’s ongoing commitment to refining its features and providing a polished user interface in line with its Material Design principles.
