Following the Google Pixel 9 CAD render leaks, there’s yet another leak that should get Pixel fans excited. On a Facebook private group run by individuals in Vietnam, alleged images of the Google Pixel 8a retail box have surfaced. While we don’t have access to the group, an individual took to X to post these images. Check them out below:
Based on the design seen on the box, the Pixel 8a appears to retain the signature horizontal camera bar that debuted on the Pixel 6 series. However, the device has curvier corners compared to the Pixel 7a, something that we saw with the leaked dummy a couple of months ago.
The front of the box itself appears to be identical as to what we’ve come to expect from Google’s packaging for its smartphones. For instance, here’s the box that the Pixel 7a comes in.
The details on the box also indicate that the device will support up to 27W PD charging. However, as expected, there will be no charger in the box. This faster charging paired with better battery life would be a sweet combo and will check at least one box off my wishlist.
Much like any other leak or rumor, I’d suggest taking this with a grain of salt as there’s no immediate way to verify the legitimacy of the two images shared. The Pixel 8a is expected to be released in May. So there’s still a few months to go.
Nevertheless, it seems Google still has a long way to go to stop its devices leaking months before the official releases.
