This is not new, it’s almost like a culture now cultivated by Google. After its latest product launch, Google almost immediately puts its predecessor’s on sale at a discounted price.

Back in August, Google listed the Pixel 3/3 XL on Google store at a discounted price i.e $300 less than its original price. The deal was applicable until September 28, and on September 29 (i.e. yesterday) the deal was further renewed for another two months.

Take a peek at what the Term and conditions say:

Save $300 on Pixel 3/3 XL. Starts September 29, 2019 at 12am PT and ends November 23, 2019 at 11:59pm PT, while supplies last and subject to availability. US residents only. Must be 18 years or older. Unless otherwise stated, offer cannot be combined with other offers and is not transferable. Purchase must be made on Google Store US. Not valid for cash or cash equivalent. Void where prohibited.

As we are approaching the launch of Pixel 4 and Pixel 4XL, it’s not surprising that Google wants to clear off some stocks by listing the Pixel 3 and 3XL at discounted prices.

The Pixel 3 64GB Variant is priced at $499 and 128GB is at $599. Meanwhile, the Pixel 3 XL is $599 for the 64GB variant and $699 for 128GB. You’ll have to try your luck for the colors in stock. FYI, Pixel 3/3XL flagship of 2018 is now only $100 more than the price of Pixel 3a.

Motion Sensor on Pixel 4

Pixel 4/4XL coming on October 15, will debut the Project Soli, that is deprived of a fingerprint sensor, instead, it make use of Motion Sensing Radar for Motion Gestures with hand and Face unlock.

We assume, Google store will list the Pixel 3/3XL at a starting price point at $499 by default after October 15. It is highly unlikely that Google will enlist another discounted price for the Smartphone and the chances are very bleak that it would go back for the handset’s original price of  $799.
