Google Maps, for sure, is one of the most popular mapping services used by millions of people across the world on a daily basis. Although the mapping service is not exempt from experiencing various bugs and glitches.

For instance, we recently highlighted the issues where the Google Maps ‘Arrive by’ feature was not showing or suggesting a ‘Leave by’ time and was showing misleading times on alternate routes.

Now, a new problem has surfaced.

Google Maps reviews not posting for some users

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7), several Google Maps users are encountering an issue where reviews are not posting.

They are baffled as their reviews don’t get posted on the platform due to policy violations, even when the post has been created according to the company’s guidelines.

They say that they communicate their personal experiences and views about certain places or businesses without any abuse or profanity that could possibly violate the policy.

As per the claims, this happens when a post contains photographs shot with their smartphone. In addition to this, some dedicated Google reviewers have also been unable to review businesses for the past few days.

Every time they try to do so, they get an email stating that their rating or review hasn’t been posted.

This unexpected restriction has left them bewildered and discouraged since they have been an advocate for honest and accurate ratings on Google Maps.

IT’S A VERY SHAMEFUL THING THAT I COULDN’T POST ANY #REVIEW ON #GOOGLEMAPS. I AM GETTING A MESSAGE THAT “IT IS NOT POSTED” EACH TIME AND “I ALWAYS NEED TO SUBMIT AN APPEAL”.

@googlemaps Why have you not allowed me to post quite a few reasonable reviews like this on Google Maps? Tell me, how did this go against any guidelines? 🙄🙄

However, troubles of Google Maps users don’t end up here.

Google Maps reviews missing or not showing for others

Some Google Maps users (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8) are also witnessing a problem where reviews are missing or not visible for others.

They allege that when they go to the reviews tab and scroll down, the loading circle spins blue and then turns red, but no reviews appear.

Users have noticed that the issue pops up only when using the Google Chrome browser on their smartphones. They have also tried to retrieve reviews for businesses with varying review counts, but with no success.

Notably, they can access reviews while using Google Maps on their laptops and Desktop PCs with the same account.

Along with this, they have observed that switching to desktop mode on their phone helps them see photos and reviews as well.

When i go to the reviews tab and scroll down it does not show any reviews. The circle for loading spins blue then turns red and nothing shows up.

Unfortunately, Google has not officially responded to this matter. But we do hope that the company addresses and fixes these glitches soon.

That said, we will keep tabs on the issue where Google Maps reviews are not posting, missing, or not showing and update this story.
