[Updated] Google Maps 'Arrive by' feature no longer showing (or suggesting a 'Leave by' time) frustrates users

In the fast-paced world we live in today, effective navigation and planning are critical in our day-to-day lives.

In this regard, Google Maps has emerged as an invaluable ally for millions of people across the world, offering a plethora of benefits that simplify commutes and streamline daily planning.

However, time and again, users have experienced issues with the service.

For example, we recently highlighted the issues where Google Maps was showing misleading times on alternate routes and the saved places appeared as small dots instead of pins on iOS.

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8,9,10), multiple Google Maps users are facing an issue where the ‘Arrive by’ feature is no longer showing or suggesting a ‘Leave by’ time.

It has also been alleged that the service no longer shows the typical time that a trip would take at the specified time of day.

As per the claims, it now displays a specific amount of travel time labeled ‘Fastest route now due to traffic conditions’ even when the ‘Arrive by’ time has been set for the next day.

In addition to this, Google Maps no longer displays one’s actual location on the map. And this is, without a doubt, quite disheartening for those who use the navigation platform as their daily driver.

Notably, the issue has been persistent for the past few days and affects users across multiple platforms.

And sadly, one cannot get rid of this glitch by clearing the app cache, rebooting the smartphone, or using different addresses.

Google maps has stopped showing a “Leave by” time when I set an “Arrive by” time, nor does it show the “Typical” amount of time the trip would take at the specified time of day.

Google maps us no longer showing me set depart or arrival time for driving mode. I use to see qhat time I need to leave by if I want to get to a place around a certain time.

Some have even questioned the rationale for removing a feature that was well-liked and valuable to many. They assert that this decision was taken without considering the real-world usage.

Those impacted are now urging the developers to resolve this issue as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, Google has not officially acknowledged this matter. But we are hopeful that it will fix this glitch soon.

04:27 pm (IST): One of the affected users said that this issue got fixed after they uninstalled the updates.
