Fallout 76 is the latest installment in the successful Bethesda franchise. This time the company opted for an online model unlike previous single-player focused experiences.
In the recent past, players have been reporting some bugs to fix. For instance, the crashing issue, the ‘Berry Mentats’ item not working, among others.
Now, Fallout 76 players are reporting that the latest game update is not downloading or they are getting stuck during the installation process.
Fallout 76 update stuck or not downloading from Microsoft Store
It seems that the whole problem started after the latest update to the game. This one arrived a few hours ago including some bug fixes and improvements.
The update is mandatory, so those who enter the game will get a message saying that they need to install it in order to play.
However, many Fallout 76 players are getting stuck in the update installation process due to errors during the download. Some have even had to download the entire game again as part of the update.

The Bethesda team has already acknowledged the problem. They also confirmed that it is happening to players who try to update the game through the Microsoft Store.

So, in theory, players who have purchased the game on other platforms like Steam should not be experiencing these issues. Also, there is no ETA for a fix yet.
We will be monitoring the situation to update this story as events unfold.
