Here’s the crux of the article in video form:

New updates are being added at the bottom of this story…….

Original story (published on May 03, 2023) follows:

Destiny 2 recently received the Hotfix 7.0.5.2 update that brought along several new quests and bug fixes. However, updates generally also bring annoying bugs and issues that may impact the gameplay negatively.

We recently covered a story where an update broke stereo audio for some players. Unfortunately, players are now facing a new issue that prevents them from progressing in certain quests.

Destiny 2 Medallions not counting

According to reports (1,2,3,4,5) from Destiny 2 players, Medallions are not counting or tracking progress for some quest objectives. This happens even for those who’ve completed all of the required tasks.

Some are stuck on quests like ‘Top of class’ due to this bug. A lot of them can’t seem to get past the first step which involves earning a Medallion by completing activities with your class item equipped.

Even when gamers collect the Medallions, they never reflect in the quest’s menu. Some are unable to get items like the Heir Apparent Catalyst as the Medallions needed to complete the quest never show up.

The issue currently affects all kinds of Medallions (bronze, silver, gold, and platinum). Most quests that include Medallion-related objectives face the consequences of this bug.

This is incredibly frustrating as players have spent a considerable amount of time trying to achieve those objectives. Some have taken to social media platforms like Twitter and Reddit to raise their concerns.

Official acknowledgment

Fortunately, Destiny 2 developers were quick to acknowledge the issue where Medallions are not counting for players and are investigating reports for the same. However, they did not share an ETA for the fix.

They also shared a potential workaround that can help you collect Medallions until the bug is resolved. Players can progress by earning Bronze Medallions in the Guardian Games: Recreational Playlist.

We hope the developers are able to find the root cause behind the problem and fix it at the earliest. We’ll keep an eye on this matter and update this story to reflect noteworthy developments in the future.
