Ever wonder how to get a horrific mimic with sharp teeth to follow you around and attack your enemies in Baldur’s Gate 3? Then worry not, here’s a method to acquire all kinds of nightmare-inducing pets, including a Mimic, Gnoll, and others.
The Mimic adoption process in Baldur’s Gate 3
In the second act of Baldur’s Gate 3, players are instructed to reach the dreadful Moonrise Towers. The Moonrise towers can be reached by either taking the risen road or the underground route through the Underdark.
In the Underdark, players face multiple horrors and adventures. Among them all, they will encounter a race of living plants called the Myconids. Among the Myconids, there’s a particular sentient fungi named Glut.
This mushroom-like abomination has a special ability that allows players to reanimate dead creatures by inducing fungal spores inside them. And this power can be used on almost anything, including a Mimic!
To get an undead pet Mimic, players need to:
- Go to the top floor of Moonrise Towers and search for the rooms.
- Find the chest in the bedroom and attack it to make it change into a Mimic.
- After killing it, pick it up using the strongest party member who has drunk a ‘Hill Giant Strength’ potion.
- Fast travel to the Myconid colony to have Glut use his powers on the dead Mimic.
And that’s it! Enjoy your new pet!
This method can be used on other creatures such as Gnolls, Gremishkas, and more!
However, there is a drawback to this. Glut’s power can reanimate almost any corpse, but unfortunately, his powers are only active as long as Glut is in the party and players are within the boundaries of the Underdark.
