The tech world is abuzz with anticipation as Apple introduces its latest iteration of the iOS operating system.

iOS 17 Developer Beta 1 has been released, offering developers and enthusiasts a sneak peek into the future of Apple’s mobile ecosystem.

Apple Music fans are beneficiaries of this update as they finally got a long demanded ‘Crossfade‘ feature.

However, early adopters quickly discovered a significant issue when attempting to enable the Crossfade option in the Apple Music ‘Settings’ (1,2,3,4,5).

The ability to seamlessly blend one song into another during playback is a popular feature among music enthusiasts.

So, those who were excited to explore the new ‘Crossfade’ feature in Apple Music ‘Settings’ or ‘Preferences’ found themselves encountering an unexpected hurdle.

Upon navigating to the Settings app and selecting Apple Music, users found that enabling Crossfade caused an immediate crashing of the settings app.

This crash effectively blocked users from accessing the Apple Music settings thereafter.

Y’all don’t turn on crossfade on music in the settings app in #iOS17 yet. It’ll cause it to crash every time you open the music section in settings after that.

for iOS 17 developer beta 1, if you want to access the Apple Music settings, probably don’t enable crossfade (its settings section will crash) lol

The frustration stemmed from the inability to adjust other Apple Music settings or explore additional features, thus limiting their control and customization over their music experience.

Curiously, despite the crash issue, users have found that the Crossfade feature remains enabled at a default duration of 4 seconds.

This means that even though users are unable to access the Apple Music settings again, crossfading between songs will still occur during playback.

While this bug may cause inconvenience, it is important to remember that developer betas are works in progress, and encountering issues is not uncommon.

Apple will likely address this problem before the final release, ensuring a seamless user experience for all music enthusiasts.

Until then, users should exercise caution when enabling Crossfade in the Apple Music settings of the iOS 17 developer beta 1.

Update 1 (June 22, 2023)

12:47 pm (IST): According to some users, the issues with Music settings are fixed in iOS 17 developer beta 2.
