[Updated] 1Password down, not working or unable to sign in? You're not alone

The ‘password managers’ segment is full of options. One of the best-known tools for this purpose is 1Password.

Thousands of people use the tool to keep their passwords safe. It also allows you to synchronize them between multiple devices, generate secure passwords automatically, among other things.

In the recent past, we have covered some 1Password issues reported by users. For instance, the missing ‘reveal’ function on iOS, the requirement to re-enter passwords every 2 weeks, among others.

That said, currently many 1Password users are unable to access their accounts and passwords since the servers are down or not working.

Multiple reports indicate an ongoing outage in 1Password servers that prevents users from being able to access their accounts or use the tool between their synced devices.

When 1Password users enter their credentials at the login screen, they just get a ‘Can’t sign in, An unexpected error occurred’ message.

The problem is quite severe as users are unable to access tens (or hundreds) of passwords from their favorite websites, whether they are entertainment or professional.

There is still no official word on this situation from the 1Password team. We will be monitoring the situation to update this story as events unfold.

01:19 pm (IST): 1Password team just confirmed that they are already aware of the issue and investigating what is happening.

Investigating: We are aware some subset of customers were experiencing issues connecting to our http://1Password.com service and our team is investigating.

01:41 pm (IST): According to multiple fresh reports (1, 2, 3, 4, 5), 1Password is again down or not working for a section of users.

Fortunately, the support team didn’t take too long to acknowledge the problem and they have confirmed that the team is currently investigating it.

07:37 pm (IST): According to 1Password’s status page, the recent outage with the service has now been resolved.
