Like clockwork, a fresh update for Dia is live for the week. The build is rolling out as version 1.45.0 for Mac. But once again, The Browser Company has left out details about what’s new. Instead, the company has been following a pattern of posting random tips or completely unrelated content on its release notes page.
For reference, here’s what the team posted for this release:
Fortunately, browser sleuth JaceThings manages to do a better job. They shared a short list of changes with this new update in a post on Reddit.
For starters, Dia has finally fixed the broken cast function. Before the update, clicking on the cast button in the right-click menu would do nothing. Now, we can confirm that after installing the latest build, the cast function works and you can cast content to any supported device.
Another addition is the integration with Zoom. As the unofficial release notes point out, “Dia can connect to Zoom to search meetings, find recordings, and access transcripts, summaries, and chats.”
That’s about all with the update.
Of course, we don’t expect major releases every week, especially at a time when the company is now focusing on getting the Windows release right. Just yesterday, we reported on the progress as the company gave a thousand more users access to the early Windows app.
The browser also picked up the much-anticipated Spaces feature this month.
We’ll continue tracking new builds and undocumented changes as they surface. If you’ve updated to version 1.45.0, let us know in the comments below how the new Zoom integration and Chromecast fix are working for you!
