Dia's much-anticipated Spaces is finally showing up for users in the early bird program

It finally looks like Dia’s long-awaited Spaces feature is starting to escape internal testing.

If you’ve been following Dia over the past few months, you’ll know this has easily been one of the most requested features from former Arc users. Spaces was one of Arc’s defining features, so its absence in Dia has been hard to ignore. We’ve been tracking the delays for a while, and just a couple of days ago, The Browser Company’s CEO Josh Miller said the feature was “headed to production soon.”

That was a welcome change after months of waiting. Back in June, we reported that a moderator had pushed expectations to early July, but that deadline quietly passed without Spaces making an appearance. Since then, Dia has received a handful of smaller weekly updates, including versions 1.40.1 and 1.41.0, though neither included the feature users had been waiting for.

Today, though, we spotted something interesting while browsing Reddit.

A user posted that they’d finally received access to Spaces. The original post didn’t include any proof, so it was hard to take at face value. Later, though, they returned and shared a screenshot in the comments showing the feature running in their browser.

Not long after, another user posted a separate screenshot, making it much harder to dismiss as a one-off.

The screenshots line up with what we’d expect from Spaces. The sidebar lets users organize different workspaces while keeping separate tabs neatly grouped together. Anyone who spent time with Arc will probably recognize the layout immediately.

Digging through the comments revealed another interesting detail. Several people who already have the feature mentioned they’re part of Dia’s Early Bird program. One user even said they signed up through Dia’s Early Bird page, closed the browser, reopened it, and Spaces appeared almost immediately.

We gave that a try ourselves, but no luck. After registering for the program and restarting the browser, Spaces still wasn’t available on our end.

That suggests the rollout is either happening in waves or is currently limited to a small group of Early Bird users. Either way, this makes it clear that we’ll be seeing a wider release of Spaces very soon.

So if you’ve been waiting to recreate your Arc setup inside Dia, you might not have to wait much longer.
