Helium Browser version 0.14.6.1 is now available, built on the Chromium 150.0.7871.124 base. There are several overall security and stability improvements.
Information about this update and the entire changelog is available on GitHub. You can find an image showing some of the changes below. (Note: The changelog is for v0.14.6, and there has been a v0.14.6.1 update since then, which is just a tiny point-release.)

I’ve checked for this update myself, and sure enough, v0.14.6.1 began installing immediately, so there seems to have been another minor release (dot-one) update since the release of v0.14.6.

Alongside the bump to the core version, the update also introduces a real zoom indicator in the interface. If users don’t like it, a setting lets them hide it as well. There are further Appearance settings, with fixes to indents and separators on the pages.
An important new feature is crash reporting. Users will now get a dedicated dialog for reporting crashes. Additionally, a force-paste command has been added as both a direct action and a menu item.
For the context menu, there’s a new change as well. Shift + Right click will open the context menu now, and VTS (Vertical Tab Strip) handling has been refined so the resize area remains visible.
Furthermore, native frame handling has received stability improvements. Crashes in PiP mode have been addressed, issues with Google Meet PiP were also resolved, and some bugs related to progressive web app windows were also fixed.
Other changes include an update to uBlock, removal of unnecessary code from the “disable-ai” patch, and some other internal adjustments.
While this isn’t really a feature-heavy release, it’s more about stability, security, and bringing Helium up to the latest version of Chromium.
Here’s a list of the major changes:
- Updated to the latest Chromium version.
- Added a real zoom indicator with an option to hide it.
- Crash reporting with dialog and preference setting.
- Force-paste command and menu item.
- Shift + Right click for opening context menu.
- Fixes several PiP-based crashes, including Google Meet.
In other Helium news, the company is working on fixing a bug where saved logins got wiped randomly. We covered that here.
