Brave is on a phenomenal winning streak, and the numbers are there to prove it. The privacy-centric browser has officially crossed the 120 million Monthly Active Users (MAU) mark, putting the tech industry on notice that its organic growth engine is running at full throttle.

Brave’s co-founder and CEO shared the company’s June 2026 statistics, revealing the browser’s strongest year-to-date MAU growth.

Brave recorded a massive leap in active users in June 2026

In May 2026, Brave recorded its second-best growth month of the year, hitting 117.56 million MAUs. A significant portion of that surge came from users fleeing mainstream alternatives following Google I/O. However, rather than plateauing, Brave accelerated.

By the end of June, Brave’s MAU climbed to a staggering 120.93 million, representing a normalized growth of 2.9%.

Daily active users (DAU) also hit a new all-time high. The browser’s high-water mark (HWM) DAU surpassed the 51 million threshold for the first time, landing at 51.16 million, a solid 3.3% bump from May’s 49.52 million. Furthermore, user engagement deepened, with daily user-minutes rising to 6.81 billion (up 2.5% from May’s 6.65 billion).

What fueled this massive June jump? According to the CEO, global football fever played a huge role. World Cup interest actively drew new users to the browser, likely aided by features like Brave Search’s World Cup widget, which kept fans glued to the latest match updates directly from their search bar. Even better for the company, new-user retention remained well above average, meaning the people who downloaded Brave for the tournament are actually staying.

Brave Search crosses 81 million daily queries

Brave Search is mirroring the browser’s explosive trajectory. In May, peak daily queries (QPD) sat at 76.76 million. Fast forward to June 29, and Brave Search smashed through a new ceiling, peaking at 81.01 million queries in a single day (a 5.5% jump).

Monthly queries (QPM) grew to 2.41 billion, pushing the search engine’s annualized run rate to a massive 28.36 billion queries. Interestingly, nearly 8% of these queries (7.57%) come from non-Brave browsers, proving that users of competing browsers are actively choosing Brave Search for their daily web queries.

Part of Brave’s secret to high retention is its aggressive push to refine its ecosystem and reward user loyalty. The company recently expanded its premium offerings, headlined by Brave Origin’s arrival on iPhone and iPad following its desktop debut. Additionally, the development team remains heavily focused on quality-of-life improvements across all platforms. By quickly addressing community pain points, like swiftly fixing broken YouTube playlist downloads on iOS, Brave ensures that its influx of new mobile users enjoys a frictionless, premium experience.

Despite breaking organic growth records, Brave continues to sustain its independent ecosystem through a diversified revenue stream, relying on search ads, API access, privacy-respecting browser ads, crypto deals, and premium products.

Since then, it's been a parade of Android devices (with a sprinkle of iOS), culminating in a mostly happy marriage with Google's smart home ecosystem.
