Various players have flagged stuttering issues on Forza Horizon 6 since its recent launch. The issues are particularly higher for AMD GPU/CPU users; some Nvidia users are facing it as well.
Threads on Reddit, Facebook, and the Steam Community discuss frequent stutters every few seconds during open-world driving.
Frustratingly, it’s also happening on flagship-grade hardware such as RX 7900 XTX, 9070 XT, etc. Multiple frame drops are a common issue. You can find more reports here, here, and here.

On the official Forza feedback portal, many players submitted verified reports as well. A higher volume of reports is from AMD processors, though some Nvidia users experienced similar problems.

Community discussions point to many potential factors, such as SAM (Smart Access Memory) issues or cache handling issues. It isn’t a user error or hardware bottleneck, since flagship systems with expensive GPUs and a lot of RAM are facing the same stutter. It’s a game designed to run well even on lower-end hardware, as pointed out on X and Facebook.

I’ve browsed various comment sections online looking for solutions. One potential workaround that came up multiple times is turning off ReBAR (Resizable Bar) in the BIOS. Some users have confirmed that it helps. Tweaking settings such as HAGS and full-screen optimization may somewhat resolve the issue.
Additionally, you can also try updating to the latest AMD drivers, unlocking the FPS, and disabling V-Sync.
Lowering the graphics settings may or may not offer improvement; reducing geometry and environment details fixes it for some users, but not everyone. Restricting the FPS to 40 or 60FPS also doesn’t seem to work. Basic workarounds such as verifying the game files or reinstalling drivers don’t yield positive results either.
While the recent hotfix seems to have fixed many issues with the game, reports of stutter and lag still remain.
At the time of writing, no official statement from the company exists. Fortunately, the developers of Forza Horizon frequently address user complaints. For example, a bug recently prevented the game from launching on Steam, and the company promptly acknowledged it on their socials. More on that here.
We’ll update the article in case anything comes up. Meanwhile, you can keep track of their socials (@forza_support on X).
