Update 14/05/26 – 12:02 pm (IST): It looks like Verizon wasn’t actually waiting around for Monday to send out the One UI 8.5 update for the Galaxy S25 series. The latest information shared on its software updates page indicates that Samsung’s latest One UI update is live for the Galaxy S25, S25+, S25 FE, S25 Edge, and the S25 Ultra.
Original article published on May 13, 2026, follows:
Verizon Galaxy S25 users may have to sit tight until next Monday before the One UI 8.5 update starts showing up, according to a customer who says they spoke directly with a carrier representative.
The user posted in Samsung’s US community forums yesterday that Verizon confirmed the S25 series rollout would begin next Monday and stretch through the following week. That’s a longer wait than some owners were hoping for, especially since the update is already landing on plenty of other devices.
Samsung began pushing the stable One UI 8.5 build to unlocked Galaxy S25 models in multiple regions this week, as we covered in our earlier reporting on the delayed rollout. Carrier-branded phones in the US typically trail behind by a few days, so it isn’t exactly surprising.
That said, the Galaxy Z Flip 7 and Z Fold 7 on Verizon have already picked up the One UI 8.5 update. For those curious, you can check the full changelog shared by Verizon below. You can expect it to remain largely the same for the Galaxy S25 series too:
In the thread, the OP said they called Verizon out of curiosity and were told the update would reach S25 phones starting Monday. Of course, not everyone’s thrilled with the delay, especially considering One UI 8.5 in general had a delayed rollout to begin with.
One UI 8.5 is a major release for the S25 line, though it doesn’t include everything Samsung added to the newer S26 series. Our previous reporting noted that Galaxy S25 users won’t see features like Now Nudge or a 24MP camera mode. So you might want to keep that in mind before you get too excited about what’s actually arriving on your handset.
A few early bugs are already showing up, too. Some users have reported that Quick Share’s AirDrop support isn’t working properly after the update, and others have spotted visual glitches where the dialer and certain Google apps turn gray or break entirely under dark mode.
Samsung and Verizon haven’t issued any official timing yet, so for now, this forum report is the closest thing to a schedule that carrier customers have.
