After the One UI 8.5 update, many S25 series users are reporting that Quick Share with Apple devices is no longer working.
Users took to Reddit, X, and the Samsung Community forums. They say that both receiving and sending files are broken after the One UI 8.5 update.

Fortunately, this appears to be one of those bugs where a basic workaround helps many users. I’ve browsed through comments on Reddit, and people confirm that simply restarting your Samsung phone fixes the issue. One report claims that clearing data for Quick Share does the job, but this may not work for everyone.

If either of the devices fails to recognize the other as a contact, you may need to enable the “Everyone” option under AirDrop settings. Sometimes, the Samsung device is treated as a “non-contact”, even if contact information is saved. Additionally, you may need to check whether AirDrop is enabled under Quick Share settings in the first place.
Restarting the phone helps in a majority of cases, but some unlucky users report that it still doesn’t fix the issue. Contacting Samsung Support wasn’t that helpful either, since they allegedly asked the user to try the QR code or link instead.
I’d recommend restarting both of the devices and checking whether that helps; some also report that restarting twice might help.
While some comments claim that the transfer speeds are slow, the issue doesn’t appear widespread.
An important note about device compatibility: If you’re on an S25 FE model, the feature is not available yet. However, the entire S25 and S24 series is present in the list of compatible devices for AirDrop via Quick Share, so you should receive it with an update soon.

The current Quick Share version on the S25 FE does not yet include the newer AirDrop-compatible implementation, and the Quick Share Extension responsible for AirDrop is reportedly unavailable on the S25 FE.
While a lot of users are claiming that Samsung is gatekeeping the feature, the extension actually has to be pushed from Google’s end. Features such as Now Nudge, Vibration Sync, AOD Wall, etc., are yet to be released on the S24 FE.
It’s not just FE users who were left out; Pixel 8 and 8 Pro users didn’t receive AirDrop via Quick Share either. Hopefully, both companies push an update to add the feature eventually, since gatekeeping such a useful feature has resulted in immense disappointment from users.
