Roblox recently placed several well-known games under review, making them temporarily unavailable for players. Titles like Flood Escape Classic, My Restaurant, etc were impacted. However, the company restored most of these games after a few hours.

Players who attempted to join some of these games were seeing “Unavailable” in place of the Play button and unknown maturity ratings, as reported on X.

Flood Escape Classic, a long-time favorite game, was randomly taken down for review, drawing significant attention from the community.

Flood Escape removed.

People were frustrated about Roblox taking down games without prior notifications or even a proper explanation as to why. The official page for Flood Escape still returns a 404 error at the time of writing, so it has not yet been restored. Flood Escape 2, however, has returned.

Players frustrated about Flood Escape.

Another game, My Restaurant, was also taken down for a while. A developer at BIG Games later clarified that an automated system flagged a hidden X handle in the game’s code, and the game returned after the developers resolved the issue.

Developer clarification.

Noob Train experienced a similar downtime due to unknown reasons, before it was restored.

The use of automation and AI to moderate games and experiences seems to be causing several issues. This recent “moderation wave” using automatic systems might occasionally flag potential issues accurately, but it has drawn a lot of criticism for false positives.

While Roblox hasn’t directly issued a statement on why these games were temporarily taken down, some individual developers have shared their side of the story, as discussed in the paragraph about My Restaurant.

These games being momentarily unavailable due to review isn’t the only case of AI/automatic moderation potentially acting up. We covered a story where it recently banned players just for sharing the same Wi-Fi network.

There are some genuine situations where Roblox takes games off the store to revise age/maturity ratings, such as the horror game Pressure; however, in several cases, AI moderation is only causing unnecessary inconveniences.
