The search bar on Pinterest is currently broken, and several users are reporting that searching for anything throws them an error message. The message reads “Sorry, we couldn’t find any pins for this search,” and it doesn’t give them the search results. Clicking on the suggestions also gives the same error.

As is common with all bugs, it’s not affecting everyone. I’ve tried to replicate the issue myself on iOS and Android, but search results work perfectly fine for me.

However, there are a good number of reports on Downdetector. The latest spikes in the graph indicate that there have been hundreds of reports over the past few hours.

People have tried clearing the app cache, reinstalling the app, and switching to the Pinterest website, but these don’t seem to help. I was unable to find direct workarounds for this, but you can try directly searching for the required keyword on Google and adding the word “Pinterest.” For example, if you want to search for images related to space, you can look up “Space Pinterest” on Google directly.

Since it’s happening across the iOS app, Android app, and also the website, it’s very likely a server-side issue. It’s not a user error, so there’s not much you can do from your end.

I wouldn’t hold my breath for an acknowledgement from Pinterest, since server-side errors like this quietly get patched in the background, like the Edit Widget bug on iOS. I would recommend checking whether it’s working in a couple of hours.
