New leak allegedly shows Apple's first foldable iPhone cases — complete with MagSafe

Apple’s first official-looking cases for its foldable iPhone leaked yesterday, and they appear to include MagSafe support too.

This comes from what is likely a potential copycat account of a notable leaker, Majin Buu (account no longer on X). The main thread has already passed 104,000 views. Two follow-up posts added more shots of the blue dummy unit alongside a clear case with no MagSafe magnets.

The cases fit the compact square shape that dummy units revealed earlier this month. When closed, the phone measures roughly 120 by 84 millimeters. And these fresh pictures seem to confirm the same.

A visible MagSafe ring sits on the back of the cases. Majin noted this in the caption, saying, “it looks like we’ll finally have MagSafe.” Some commenters immediately asked whether the magnets are full MagSafe or just a basic charging ring. Others noted the obvious thing that most people will slap a case on anyway.

The leak follows the dummy unit photos that surfaced earlier this month. Those showed no MagSafe ring on the bare device. Now the accessory images suggest Apple is adding the feature at the case level, at least for launch.

So, as you can expect, plenty of people welcomed the MagSafe news after weeks of worry that the foldable might skip it. A smaller group called the overall look too rugged and not very Apple-like, with orange accents drawing side-eye in several replies.

The device itself still draws the “baby fold” nickname because of its small closed size. Unfolded, it offers about a 7.8-inch inner screen, according to the earlier dummy measurements. Analysts expect 3 to 5 million units in the first year if Apple prices it between $2,000 and $2,500.

The naming itself is still up in the air. In a recent video, YouTuber Jon Prosser of FPT claimed the device will probably launch as the iPhone Ultra, positioning it as the new premium flagship alongside the iPhone 18 Pro and Pro Max series.

Case leaks this specific usually mean the overseas supply chain is officially locking in final hardware details. Accessory makers need exact dimensions months in advance so they can manufacture inventory for launch day. We will probably see more brands quietly dropping their own case designs as production ramps up.

For now potential buyers can at least rest easy knowing their current wallets and charging stands will probably work.
