For years now, Google Pixel fans have been quietly mourning the disappearance of one of the lineup’s most beloved looks: the Panda finish. You know the one that last appeared on the Pixel 2 XL. White back, black accents, and just enough contrast to make a Pixel instantly recognizable from across the room. And now, thanks to a new fan-made Google Pixel 11 concept, that nostalgia is hitting harder than ever.

Based on the latest leaked Pixel 11 design language, these concept renders imagine what a modern Panda Pixel could look like if Google brought the iconic finish back for the Pixel line’s 10th anniversary. The result? Honestly, stunning.

The renders show a base Pixel 11 in a clean white finish paired with a black camera bar, black frame accents, and that signature orange power button. It is the kind of design that feels both nostalgic and fresh at the same time. In one render, the phone is surrounded by other Pixel hardware on a wooden surface, while another places it in someone’s hands to better show how the contrast-heavy finish would stand out in real life. There is also a softer lifestyle shot with coffee and Pixel Buds nearby, and it all comes together to sell a very simple idea: this colorway just works.

What makes this concept especially compelling is how naturally it fits with the leaked Pixel 11 hardware. As we recently reported in our leaked Google Pixel 11 design coverage, Google doesn’t appear to be planning a dramatic redesign this year. Instead, the company seems to be sticking with a familiar formula, refining dimensions and keeping the overall look very close to the current generation. We also saw in a separate Pixel 11 Pro leak that Google may be leaning into a more uniform glass camera bar on the Pro model.

That is exactly why this Panda concept lands so well. It does not need a radical new shape to feel special. The current Pixel design, especially with the visor-style camera housing, is already distinctive enough. Add a high-contrast black-and-white finish to that formula, and suddenly the Pixel 11 goes from “another safe refinement” to something that feels celebratory.

And there is a decent narrative reason for Google to do it, too. The original Pixel debuted in 2016, which makes 2026 the lineup’s 10th anniversary year. That is a rare opportunity for Google to have some fun with the hardware without needing to overhaul the entire phone. A special-edition Panda model would be an easy win with longtime fans, especially those who still remember the old black-and-white Pixel era fondly.

Of course, none of this is official. That part matters. These are fan-made renders inspired by the latest OnLeaks-based leaks, not a confirmed Google product. So while it is tempting to start convincing ourselves that Google has one last surprise in store, there is currently no evidence that a Panda Pixel 11 is actually in the works.

Still, if the broader Pixel 11 rumors hold up, Google may already have a lot going for it this year. We’ve previously covered reports pointing to Samsung’s M16 OLED panel debuting on the Pixel 11, along with leaks suggesting the phone could get its biggest security and privacy upgrade in five years. There is even a growing body of Pixel 11 leak coverage pointing to Google playing it safe on design while improving the internals.

Maybe that is exactly why a Panda finish would make so much sense.

If Google is indeed going conservative with the hardware this year, a bold anniversary colorway could be the easiest way to make the Pixel 11 feel memorable. These renders prove the idea does not just sound good in theory. It looks fantastic in practice. And even though it lacked bright colors, the black-and-white Panda design with the orange button was certainly one of Google’s best colorways, if not the best. Sure, it would be hard to adapt to the current Pixel design, but many Pixel diehards hope they bring it back eventually.

For now, though, this remains what it is: a fan concept. A very, very good one. And perhaps a reminder that sometimes the best move is not reinventing the wheel, but simply painting it black and white again.
