Update 12/03/26 – 04:40 pm (IST): A couple of users have confirmed that the issue has been fixed with the recent update for the Fitbit app. If you’re still facing the problem, go ahead and check for an update for the Fitbit app on the Play Store and install it.

Original article published on March 9, 2026, follows:

Some Pixel Watch owners are waking up to blank health cards instead of the overnight stats they usually check with their morning coffee. Over the past couple of days, multiple users on Reddit have said their blood oxygen and skin temperature readings stopped showing up after the March 2026 update, and the complaints do not seem limited to a single model.

The reports first started piling up in r/PixelWatch, where users with the Pixel Watch 4 said SpO2 and skin temperature tracking suddenly stopped working after the latest update. Very similar posts then showed up from Pixel Watch 3 and Pixel Watch 2 owners, with several people saying Fitbit now shows no data at all for those metrics.

There are also matching threads on Fitbit Community and Google’s Pixel Watch support forum. So it’s clear that this isn’t just a problem that a handful of users are facing.

A few of the Reddit comments point to other odd behavior after the same update. One user said calories burned seemed to double and battery life got worse, while another said the watch stopped counting steps properly during some workouts. Someone else mentioned sleep tracking has been inconsistent too, which could matter here because these readings are tied to overnight tracking in Fitbit.

That last bit is important. Google’s help pages say estimated oxygen variation is generated during sleep and only appears after a sleep session longer than three hours, while skin temperature trends depend on a baseline built over several nights. So yes, missing data can happen from time to time even without a bug. But the timing of these complaints, especially the repeated “it broke right after the March update” part, is what makes this one stand out.

As for fixes, users are mostly throwing community guesses at the wall. One Reddit user said a factory reset got SpO2 and skin temperature working again, while others said they would rather wait for Google to patch the issue than set the whole watch up from scratch. Another person claimed cleaning the back of the watch helped, but that sounds more like a one-off workaround than a real answer if the March build is actually at fault.

For now, if your Pixel Watch blood oxygen or skin temperature is not working after the March update, you are not alone. And unless Google says otherwise, this is looking a lot more like a software-side issue than random hardware failures hitting several Pixel Watch generations at the same time.

That said, this isn’t the only problem that the March Feature Drop has introduced. Earlier today, we reported how some Pixel users say the Now Playing feature went missing following the update. Before that, we highlighted complaints from Pixel users who noticed lag and their phone’s screen freezing following the update.

So let’s hope Google sorts out these issues with quick patches. We’ll keep an eye out for any further details and will update the article accordingly.
