Long-time Roblox players are bidding farewell to a familiar part of their profiles. The classic system badges, awarded directly by Roblox for milestones like account age or place visits, have disappeared for everyone.

Posts about the removal have been popping up on X and Reddit.

The company first shared the plan back in December 2025 on the Developer Forum. Staff explained that most of these Roblox-given badges hadn’t been earnable in years. They wanted to clear space for fresh features that let people show off their style better.

Game-created badges stay put. The blue verified check, Premium mark, and admin tags are still there too, though some shifted position.

Roblox softened the blow by turning many badges into wearable pins. If you earned the classic visits milestones or others, matching accessories showed up in your inventory over the past few weeks. You can equip them on your avatar now.

The move still hurts for veterans. These badges go back to 2006, tying straight to the platform’s early days. With the 20th anniversary this year, losing them feels like letting go of real history — a sentiment that often drives frustrated users to explore competitors like Polytoria as a viable Roblox alternative.

This removal is part of a broader “modernization” effort that hasn’t always sat well with the community, including the recent controversial decision to remove classic 2D faces and heads in favor of dynamic versions.

That said, I did stumble on a Reddit thread that highlighted a new free extension called Roblox Badge Restorer that brings legacy badges back to profiles and even adds fresh achievements based on stats.

So those of you who don’t want to let go of badges, you can give the extension a shot by adding it to your browser from here.

Meanwhile, the original forum thread still has plenty of feedback from players who have asked the developers to keep badges visible or archived.

Profiles look sharper without the clutter, no doubt. But that blank spot hits different for anyone who collected those icons over the years.

If there is any silver lining for those who fear the total erasure of “Old Roblox,” it’s the recent confirmation that R6 avatars are staying for the foreseeable future.
