PlayStation Portal owners woke up to a mess today. Multiple users on the r/PlaystationPortal subreddit are reporting they can’t launch any games through cloud streaming, with the device throwing a “Can’t start streaming game. Try again” error across their entire library.

User Bigyigk kicked off the thread saying everything worked fine yesterday, but today the error popped up on every single game. They tried the usual fixes like restarting the Portal and signing out and back in, but nothing stuck.

What makes this feel like a server-side problem is how widespread it is. Comments started rolling in fast, with users confirming the same issue on their end. One person mentioned they just got their Portal recently and asked if this happens often. The answer was no, though someone who’s had the device since Black Friday said it’s happened two or three times before and usually gets fixed quickly.

Just days ago, PS3 game streaming broke for PlayStation Plus Premium subscribers, leaving the stream button completely unresponsive on PS5. Now Portal users are stuck with error messages instead of silent buttons, but the end result is the same: no games.

Some users in the thread say they can still connect their Portal directly to their PS5 through Remote Play, but cloud streaming through PlayStation Plus Premium is toast. One commenter mentioned the PlayStation Network itself might be down, though others report their PS5 consoles are working fine.

The PlayStation Network status page isn’t showing any outages right now, which has frustrated users even more. One person said it’s “straight BS” that Sony’s website claims everything is running smoothly while they’re locked out.

As of this writing, there’s no official word from PlayStation support about what’s causing the Portal streaming failures or when it might get fixed. Users are left waiting and hoping it clears up soon, with some joking the timing ruined their gaming plans for the night.

We’ll update this article if Sony acknowledges the issue or if streaming comes back online.
