Help with scrolling issue on new Pixel 10 Pro

If you’ve been keeping up with Google Pixel-related news for a while or if you’re a Pixel user, you’re probably aware of the fact that Pixel users have been complaining about scrolling stutter for a long time.
We first highlighted the concern all the way back in 2023. Then, earlier this year, we broke the news about how a third-party developer essentially found the root cause and urged Google to fix the issue. But it seems this scrolling stutter is here to haunt Pixel users to no end.
Some Pixel 10 (all models) users have begun posting about the sticky scrolling visuals on Reddit and Google’s own support forms.
One Reddit user switching from a Samsung Galaxy S23 to the Pixel 10 Pro posted a side-by-side video showing how scrolling on the new Pixel requires more effort and feels inconsistent compared to their old Samsung device. They described the scrolling as “janky” and noted that applying the same amount of pressure twice doesn’t always produce the same scrolling behavior.
Multiple users across Reddit threads are reporting similar problems with their Pixel 10 devices. Some describe the scrolling as stopping mid-gesture, while others report that quick flicks sometimes register as longer scrolls, creating an unpredictable user experience. Reports suggest that apps like Reddit, Instagram, and the Amazon app seem particularly affected, but it’s not limited to just them.
What’s frustrating for many users is that the issue appears inconsistent. Some Pixel 10 owners report smooth scrolling experiences, while others are dealing with constant stuttering and unresponsive gestures.
Users have tried various fixes suggested in community forums, including adjusting touch sensitivity settings, toggling adaptive touch, and switching between refresh rate modes. However, these solutions seem to provide only minimal improvement, if any at all.
That said, since the Pixel 10 comes with the display refresh rate locked to 60Hz, just make sure to enable ‘Smooth display’ anyway. It’ll help make the regular scrolling seem smoother, but it could also make the scrolling stutter appear more obvious in troublesome apps.
The Pixel 10 series is already facing several other issues we’ve covered recently, including Galaxy Watch 8 pairing problems and Magic Cue sign-in bugs. These new scrolling complaints add to the growing list of early bugs plaguing the new devices.
