Even though it seems like it was just yesterday that the Pixel 9 series was launched, we’re now on the Pixel 10 leaks train. Codenames for Google’s upcoming Pixel 10 lineup have been leaked, giving us an early glimpse into the tech giant’s plans for its next-generation smartphones.
In an exclusive report, Android Headlines claims that according to sources familiar with the matter, the standard Pixel 10 will bear the codename ‘Frankel’. For those who appreciated the more compact form factor of the Pixel 9 Pro, there’s good news: Google is set to continue this trend with the Pixel 10 Pro, codenamed ‘Blazer’. Additionally, a larger variant, the Pixel 10 Pro XL, is in the works under the codename ‘Mustang’.
The leak also confirms the continuation of Google’s foray into the foldable market, with the Pixel 10 Pro Fold carrying the codename ‘Rango’. Interestingly, the leak extends beyond the flagship models. The mid-range Pixel 9a, expected to be announced around Google I/O in May, has been assigned the codename ‘Tegu’. This aligns with Google’s typical schedule for unveiling its a-series devices.
While these codenames offer exciting insights into Google’s roadmap, it’s worth noting that the Pixel 10 series is still in its early stages of development. Earlier reports also indicate that the Google Pixel 10’s Tensor G5 SoC will be manufactured by TSMC. This move could potentially boost performance and efficiency in the upcoming devices.
However, despite TSMC’s plans to establish chip manufacturing facilities in the United States, it appears that the Pixel 10 may be released too early to benefit from these “Made in America” chips. That said, we still have around a year left for the launch of the Pixel 10, and we’re sure that we’ll be seeing a lot more leaks in the next few months. Stay tuned to our coverage to keep up with all things Google Pixel!
